Posted under General

Everyone wants to look beautiful and that is one reason why the beauty industry is flourishing day by day. People often rely on skin-care products to solve any kind of skin problem and to keep their skin flawless and young for years to come. But when shopping for skin care products most often people buy many unnecessary products or wrong products. Well, it is essential to bear in mind that the exposed layer of skin which is known as the epidermis need regular care to keep it healthy.

Beautiful skin

In order to beautify all different skin types it is essential to follow a proper skin care regimen and that too depending upon the skin type. There is no need to spend dollars on expensive skin care products or treatments. In fact, skin only needs a handful of simple, inexpensive treatments to get and stay healthy.

Here are five things your skin needs daily:

Cleansing:

First of all to make your skin look healthy and young you need to make efforts to keep it clean. In fact, cleansing is the most basic element of any skin care routine. By following a proper skin cleansing technique you can keep your skin free from dirt, pollutants, oil and chemicals. When your skin is clean it will remain blemish-free. For cleansing use a soap free facial cleanser as any kind of soap products can be too harsh for your delicate skin. At the same time choose a product according to your skin type. After getting an appropriate cleanser try to clean your face with it daily. Be sure to massage your face with it for at least half a minute so that it has a chance to do its job.

Water:

Water is essential not only for a healthy body but also for healthy skin and healthy hair. Water flushes toxins out of the body, allows the body cells to absorb nutrients, and keeps the digestive processes moving smoothly. Also water keeps the body well hydrated. Just like the body, the skin also needs hydration as it helps to remove impurities from the skin that can lead to pimples. A well hydrated skin will look plump and smooth. To keep the skin hydrated, try to drink at least eight to ten glasses of water daily. Along with water, try to consume fruits and vegetables that are high in water content.

Essential Fatty Acids:

Essential fatty acids are an important component of any healthy diet. Essential fatty acids are primarily omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids which help to build up the lipid-based cell membranes that hold in water and nutrients. The lipid-based cell membranes also form an oil barrier from the skin that protects it from harmful UV rays and other pollutants. When the body does not get enough essential fatty acids, the skin will become inflamed and blemished with time. To get essential fatty acids try to eat Omega-6 enriched foods like cold water fishes or flaxseed.

Sun Protection:

To keep the skin healthy and glowing you need to protect it from harmful UV rays of the sun. You can do this by using an appropriate sunscreen. For better sun protection, get a sun screen one with a sun-protection factor (SPF) greater than 15, and apply it at least 20 minutes before going out in the sun. That way, the active ingredients have time to take effect before the UV exposure begins. A sunscreen will prevent the signs of skin aging that come from sun exposure and will also reduce the risk of all types of skin cancer.

Antioxidants:

Antioxidants which help in maintaining cardiovascular health and preventing various types of cancer, also help to destroy molecules that can damage healthy skin cells. You can find antioxidants in all sorts of foods, including fruits, vegetables, seafood and oils. While many different antioxidants can be beneficial to the skin, there are two antioxidants that are generally good for the skin. The first is Vitamin C which builds collagen for plump, tight skin. Vitamin C enriched foods are whole grains and citrus fruits. The second is Vitamin E that protects cell membranes and protects the skin from UV damage. You can find Vitamin E in wheat germ oil, almonds, and peanut butter. Other skin-beautifying antioxidants include selenium, thiamine, beta-carotene and zinc.

Final Words:

Keep these five above mentioned points in mind to enjoy healthy and glowing skin for years. But for healthy skin you need to have patience and follow the tips daily without any fail.
