The winged eyeliner look suits everyone. The winged eyeliner look never goes out of style and has been a favorite amongst women since the ‘50s. It looks flattering on everyone and can instantly transform your look from drab to highly glamorous and classic.
There is something about the simple winged eye liner look that everyone wishes to apply on their eyes. To help you apply perfect winged eyeliner like a professional, here is a quick guideline.
Things you will need:
- Two angled brushes
- Liquid black eyeliner
- Eye shadow
Step by step process to apply perfect winged eyeliner.
Step 1: First add foundation, concealer and neutral colored eye shadow to the eyelid and around the eye. If your eyelids are prone to getting oily, always powder your eyelids and then only apply an eye shadow base.
Step 2: For easy application, hold or set a mirror at chin level and look downwards. If you have unsteady hands, rest your elbows on a table.
Step 3: Now take one of your angled brushes and dip it into your liquid eyeliner. Apply an ample amount to the brush, and then use the back of your hand as a canvas to mould the tip of the brush into a sharp point.
Step 4: Hold the brush at a 45-degree angle and sketch out a line from the outer corner of your eye. This line will determine the size of your liner. Pull your eye taut to achieve a smooth line. For the perfect look, try to line as close to the lashes as humanly possible.
Step 5: Now go to the inside corner of the eyelid and apply the liner close to your lash line. Again, pull your eye taut to get a smooth, straight line. Draw on your liner until both lines connect. Keep the liner thinner on the inside and thicker on the outside.
Step 6: Fill in any missing spaces along the lash line. Use small strokes, as they are easier to control than big, thick strokes.
Step 7: Once you finish lining your eye, do not blink for at least 10-15 seconds to allow the liner to dry.
Step 8: Repeat the same process on your other eye. After you have lined both eyes, be sure to compare the liner on each eye.
Step 9: If you have made any mistake, or wish to refine your line, use a clean angled sponge or brush with a little concealer. Use this as an eraser.
Step 10: You can also apply mascara and kohl eyeliner to the waterline if you wish.
Note: When it comes to makeup, less is more. So, make sure after applying winged eyeliner, you keep the overall makeup of your face to the minimum.
Practice makes perfect, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t get it right the first time. Keep trying and you’ll soon become an expert in the technique of applying winged eye liner in no time!
